The old SPA was 124, which added the value AFTER you did all your crit damage calculation, but based the increase on before. So basically for direct damage, the armor focuses were a set amount ... which is why the number was the same whether you had a critical or not.
Now the direct damage part is under SPA 302, which does the boost BEFORE any crit damage calculation. This means that when you critical, you will notice the damage focus even more. HOWEVER if you do not critical, the number added will be much smaller and possibly under the value of the old system.
