Merc AA Defy The Aureate not working?

bought the AA.

thought Id try Brood Architect.

after several attempts thought I would test what was going on.

3 Merc Clerics, one on Passive.

start event. kill 4, Architect goes live, does his ae. hit bane on all 3 characters. start fight.

by the time Brood was at 70%, 2 active mercs were oom, and the passive one, was at 80%. the only aura I had from the start was the Charm (green) aura. No other auras.

feels to me the merc bane might not be working in missons? ive not done any group stuff since patch.

It means he has a reputation for posting that he hates mercs and wants them gone from the game, so he's fine with the AA not working.

Also, Daybreak does have a long history of saying something is fixed/implemented in patch notes when it really isn't fixed/implemented correctly.

brood architect hazuri, replicants and the big red dragon all do a Mana drain. some of the slimes might also drain mana. not sure

Yes, check the AE's that are firing off, some of them mana drain.

ah. was unaware of that.

There is another trick if you run in to issues with mana drain. Rather than puting merc on passive, you can keep it supsended and them pop it out mid fight. of course this only works with a class that can fade from combat, like a bard, rogue, monk, nec, etc.

Did Brood mission tonight with same usual group with clr merc. Merc would be around 30-40% pre-patch. Tonight was 90% when done. Seems to be working.

The purple Aura on Brood Architect is a mana-drain and it is pretty strong. Ensure the mercs are not standing in it.

There should be a way to inspect the songs of others. It could help with these situations in the same way pet inventory command has helped resolve numerous issues.
