Let’s discuss 2026 TLPs!

Our first TLP, Frostreaver, will open in May and will have a ruleset voted on by you! We will be making a polling forum where we will post several polls on a select number of rules, so you all can collectively decide what you all think the best choices are for Frostreaver.
With one week left for voting and from https://forums.everquest.com/index....ld-be-available-when-the-server-opens.307832/ it looks like the popularity of a Velious start will create another version of Fangbreaker that was crippled early on with an eternity in a single expansion. Meanwhile the entire community seems unified in not wanting this.

Will DPG embrace the spirit of "Frostreaver will have a ruleset voted on by you!" and re-imagine the length till PoP, or are we going to see another server stunted before it launches by apathy from DPG to what the community wants?

I think daybreak should reconsider having such long expansions in classic EQ if we have live XP gains... that will mean that everyone is 60 the first week or even the first day and they will simply quit.
There will be lots to do on Frostreaver after leveling. I don't see quitting among on that list.

This might not be the best way to get free to play people and those turned off by current TLP to resubscribe. I can't vote so why should I care?

Very frustrating to be able to read and post on these polls but note vote. How will this lead to anyone not currently subbed to resubscribe?
imagine the thousands of ftp accounts who can vote and screw everything up. makes perfect sense the way they did it. dont be poor.

aside from raiding what do you have in mind?

A few things to do:

Some epic 1.0 are always worth doing, some do them anyways even if wisdom says "not worth it".

Shawl, ring and other clicky quests and farming eat some time. Heirloom and/or free trade change the mix a bit on what you spend time building a stash of or repeatedly questing. Some of this involves tradeskills... that is time and/or plat.

Legacy character makes it worthwhile to get 10 characters/personas to cap, less work later. You want this bonus for the later big AA eras to really see it though.

There are the "first 90 days of server only" drops (or whatever they are set at now).

There are lots of quests of course, I won't pretend the rewards justify many, but they are there.

While acknowledging that many TLPers, at least on the high pop servers like Teek, are there to raid. Nearly everything leading the polls right now suggests to me that 18 weeks in the start and then 18 weeks in Luclin doesn't mesh with how people would prefer to play Frostreaver. My interpretation, is that if given the choice the polls would show people want much less time in start and Luclin, despite all the things I listed they could do.

Funny they wont post my last post? Just another reason I wont be playing the game since THEY don't actually care about player feedback.

I'll be raiding as usual but a few of the above posts got me thinking about other things I can have fun with if I plan ahead. Fangbreaker was the first time I really got into trade skilling. Thanks, resource hunter bonuses! I like the idea of getting more than one class's epic too. Free trade will make that easier even without spending kronos, camping items others want to sell/trade for the items I want. It should be fun.

I actually like doing quests but if no one does them it's hard to find a group to do them with...
