Recently (within the past 60 days) I’ve had an issue with the zone process stalling and not completing. You start to zone but the game locks at that point and you never see the loading bar indicating you are about to enter your destination. The only way to escape this is to force-kill the (Not Responding) game in task manager, and start the game again.
The problem is *random* and is not limited to any one zone.
However the problem seems worse if:
1. You have your Options –> Display –> advance Options –> memory usage set to “most...”
2. You have more then ~750 overseer agents
3. You are dropped from an active raid instance and zone from timing out.
4. You are zoning into an active raid instance. (Harbinger’s Cradle and Theater of Eternity especially.)
5. You have not reset the computer for more then a couple days...
However, I’ve had it happen when zoning into group mission content. Again it’s *random*
My computer is an AMD 5900x 12-core with 64gig of ram, and is not running much else aside from a browser and mail client and a single character in EQ.
Deleting zone files and letting the game re-install them doesn’t seem to make a difference. Zoning works, until the right conditions are present, then it locks up on the "entering (zone)" screen.
