I need a translation for

So harvesting suply dont drop our food and drink buff.

I know I'm old, but that just makes no sense. Is this person using EQ2 lingo (and poor spelling)?

Don't people just buy stacks of water flasks and loaves of bread (both stack to 1000) and forget about food and drink for 3 months?

This comes up every so often. The issue is that if you have stat food (or drink), you only get credit for the stat bonus if the food item is in the first available slot in your inventory. If your toon inadvertantly eats the food, then *bam* your stat bonus is gone, and later in the game, replacing food with good stats can be both expensive and time-consuming. Experienced players who are carrying stat food will eat them selves full with generic food at the beginning of every session, and be in the habit of repeating this as often as necessary to preclude the risk of unintended consumption of a valuable food item. People who are occasionally new to EQ1 can get confused by this because EQ2 handles this differently, to prevent it ever happening.

They’ll add the Food and Drink slots. It’ll be an expansion feature that will be in the marketplace with additional slots to unlock.

He means when farming tradeskill junk that you get food/drink that will end up in front of the stat food.

Ah ... so then just not understanding that you could put the before mentioned stack of water and bread in the first slot of a tradeskill bag ... if that was what you were doing. That's the only way something like that could happen.

Much like the cloudy potion "conversation" with Ngreth ... I sense that this "conversation" will go much the same way. Can't everyone just be happy we have stat food and if you want to prolong, you can forcefeed?

Ngreth famously does not like how food and drink currently work, so I would be surprised if we see anything like this.

You can't do that if the stat food doesn't have the tradeskill tag, which most does not.

This is an issue if you keep a tradeskill bag on your first bag slot so that it catches all the tradeskill items.

Did you miss the water flask and loaf of bread that I specifically mentioned ... and that have the tradeskill tag?

And if you want stat food and a tradeskill bag ... don't most people just make sure that their first bag is full of "stuff" that doesn't change and put the bag in their second slot?

I understand the request for a food and drink slot (don't think it is necessary, but I understand the request). But EXCEPT for stat food running out, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish with 5 seconds of pre-planning ... and it just always work. I've been doing it for 20+ years.

You were replying to someone that was complaining about tradeskill items winding up in front of stat food. So, yes, I missed that you changed the topic for no discernable reason.

good stat foods aren't tradeskill items and won't go in the bags

The stat buffs from food and drink are pretty much irrelevant. This sounds like a max/min type issue for people that have ADHD :p In an era where people are pushing 700k+ hp, you're going to worry about 4000 more? That alone is more effort than it's worth.

If you are a level 1 then stat food of 2000k hp sure helps and is not inconsequential.

Many are sold in the baz to players who wish to gain an edge in leveling up.
