I've created a ticket for this issue. I think we'll have to add an eqclient.ini variable that can override the false positive returned by the graphics driver. Sorry not ETA.

What DirectX feature levels does DxDiag report for your display driver? E.g.

Feature Levels: 12_1,12_0,11_1,11_0,10_1,10_0,9_3,9_2,9_1

Tried switching between Most and Balanced memory settings and it doesn't seem to have any effect.

DXDiag from the machine with the latest crash is here in case it could be helpful.

It says crash dump is successfully generated, but I usually can't find them at C:\Crash. Only very rarely does it have a file there. Is it uploading them to the server and deleting once transfer is completed?

I also see random graphics distortions in the chat window background on several machines. May or may not be related. Doesn't happen that often. Camping out and back in clears it up.

Custom UI, but only modifying the target ring, BazaarWnd, Inventory, PlayerWindow, and RaidWindow.

Update: Leaving my computers at the character select will still randomly trigger the TestCooperativeLevel error. It doesn't appear to be related to the UI chat windows in game. Getting several of the crashes per day.

Reached out to the manufacturer and they do not have a newer Intel driver. I am still using the latest new driver from Intel. The registry entry to block Windows from reverting the driver seems to have worked, but it doesn't resolve the EverQuest crash.

FWIW, I went all the way back to Intel driver version 26.20.100.7584 from 2019 that came with the computer (and also tried several driver iterations newer), and it still locks up with the TestCooperativeLevel error. At this point, I think it's safe to say it's not a driver version issue but instead an issue with the upgrade to 64 bit/DX11.

You also mention a custom UI. Can you try a session with default UI?

UseNewUIEngine=0 is set on all computers.

I can try the default UI. I am only customizing a few windows and the target ring. No errors reported in UIErrors.txt other than Gameface being disabled.

The issue is font texture memory corruption.

Are you using the Ariel font? If not which and please give that a try. It's the default font and might be more stable (I use this font and I've never experienced this crash).

The font can be set in game with Options > General > Current Font. Choose "Ariel" and click Accept.

In your UI_<character><server><class>.ini file you can reset this before launching the client. Find the [Fonts] section and delete it. For example:

[Fonts]
Font.us.0=Arial

I am using Arial on all machines. I've never changed the default font. Ran a search and I don't have a [Fonts] section in any UI_*.ini file.

Okay, thanks for the info. Please try the opposite approach then and switch one character UI to using a font other than Ariel (your choice). Let's see if that helps.

I set 3 of my 5 problematic machines to use Times New Roman. Just had one of them using Times New Roman lock up about 10 mins after making the change.

Also, try disabling lit batches in eqclient.ini

Just added this setting. I did not have it in my eqclient.ini file. I was reading the forums about it, and it looks like it was called out here by Lodestar that this setting has a bug that reduces clipping plane when it's enabled. Is that still an issue?

Great. Let me know if that helps and no, the application code doesn't change the view based on UseLitBatches, so that claim remains unconfirmed.

LitBatches disabled on an RTX 4090 slightly limits the clip plane when compared to enabled.

I am confirming it, and the screenshots in the prior thread from Iven also confirms it.

Test it yourself before assuming anything someone else said. You don't have to take mine or Iven's word for it.

Additionally, there is an FPS impact related to the change (this correlates given the physical clip plane change).

I understand there may not be any code related to LitBatches that should be causing this, but perhaps an unintended interaction is indeed causing it.

I absolutely advocate that anyone follow Cairbrae's advice in troubleshooting though, as Cairbrae is doing an incredible job solving graphics challenges at Daybreak!

Hi. I just had a machine crash with Times New Roman set as the default font, as well as UseLitBatches=FALSE set under [Defaults] in eqclient.ini.

At the risk of giving invalid feedback, it does _seem like_ I am not crashing as often. However, I can't confirm with definitive proof since it's just based on casual observation so far. I've only had a couple of crashes since yesterday after making the changes. But, some crashing is still occurring - just not as often.

I think that reducing animation memory usage might mitigate this issue. Try disabling social animations in eqclient.ini as a workaround.

I posted in player support with what looks like the same error. I also have been working with cairbrae with no luck so far. Trying everything suggested and more . Even with a clean install of eq. I'll post here to keep it in one place.

Not sure if this is anything, but going to create a character and going through races. Drakkin model causes a crash like everytime..not sure if this is anything or just some coincidence.

Curious on your computer specs jedis.
The computer in question for me is a i3 4th Gen, 16gig ram, 760 gtx gpu.

My other computer that has basically 0 issues is a i7 10gen, 32 gig ram, 3080 gtx.
