Are these skills worth the trouble?

I've been making a point of trying to max all my skills as I level, but there are three I haven't touched. They are Alcohol Tolerance, Begging, and Fishing. Is there any significant benefit to leveling up these three? Just curious.

Alcohol tolerance has use in a couple raids to negate a drunk ae but pretty much safe to ignore otherwise.same with begging.

Fishing is used in Tradeskills, some baking items but primary to make shoulder and back slot items (it's tedious and I wish they'd change the recipes). You can just the products though so if you're not into Tradeskills feel free to skip fishing also.

Unnecessary but slightly useful. If you are really into it for the long haul, there are a lot of recipes that use fish with the baking skill. One skill I use an AA for on some of my characters is Forage. You didn't say it was on your to do list, but it does make things go a little faster for several skills and quests. i.e. Some of the quest require you to kill MOBs or Forage until you get the object of desire. If you are foraging while killing you basically cut the time in half.

AT is needed for revamp skyfire partisans IIRC as well

Alcohol tolerance is somewhat time consuming, but ultimately not very expensive to do. I think it’s Short Beer in PoK can stack to 1000 and a full stack only costs a couple plat, if that. A couple stacks and plenty of time is all it really takes to max the skill out.

Begging, no real use that I am aware of.

Fishing, treat it as a tradeskill. Do it if you are doing tradeskills, ignore it if not.

stronger alcohol raises your limit faster. You can get a skill point every click instead of one every hundred clicks. Then just have shammy sober you and keep going.

Is this actually proven? I'm very close to cap right now and I do it with booze i summon from an item, Hit fishing buttion summon summon summon, get fish back, put everything away, fish again. Right click booze as i go. It is very weak so i get to click alot of them and it seems to raise it faster than frozen toe rum which i can drink much fewer of.

I have that brew day ale making thing from the marketplace. I used that to get a pair of personas up relatively high (for their level) though the reuse on the thing was annoying.

When I switched to those cheap beers, the sheer number of clicks I could get compared to that much more potent drink dramatically increased the speed at which my skill went up. Fewer skillups per drink, certainly. Many more skillups per 15 minutes (or whatever timeframe).

YMMV, of course; its not like I went out and tried a lot of different alcohols to see how swiftly they raised the skill. But one thing to remember about weaker alcohol, is you can drink a ot more of it before having to wait. Also, its not like AT has a trivial level (you can no longer gain any skill from drinking this item! - NOT a thing!)

There's only one use for begging that I know of - during the "Breakdown in Communication" (aka BiC) quest series for a 200 HME (plus other stats) augment.
In one quest you have to beg a prisoner to get an item - Skill 150 required.

During this quest you also need very good faction with the Yunjo prisoners, obtained through feeding them with specific GoD-based foods and drinks. The food's main ingredients are fished.

This is my experience too!

The bard song soothing psalm of the sunrise has a negligible impact if you sing it, and a major impact when it fades or is clicked off. Ordinarily you're gated by something like one drink per tick as you have to not be max drunk to take another drink (can watch your int/wis stats rise and fall to time it iirc), and having a grouped bard chain that one song and clicking it off repeatedly will let you drink quite a bit more. Been awhile but that's what I recall.

That is why you pulse it with melody instead of letting it sing normally. (also it has a greater effect on the bard than others in your group)
